We're delighted! Kym Marsh and fiance Jamie Lomas have welcomed daughter Polly into the world after she gave birth yesterday
Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has given birth to a baby girl at the Manchester Royal Infirmary after going into premature labour, it has been confirmed today.
Her publicist told Mail Online: 'Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl Polly Lomas.
'Polly was born on Wednesday evening weighing 4lbs 1oz. Mum and baby are doing well.'
The joyful news comes after Kym was forced to start her maternity leave from the TV soap early after succumbing to the flu.
Having previously suffered problems with her cervix, the 34-year-old actress, who plays Michelle Connor in the soap, was confined to bed rest while at home.
In 2009, the couple suffered the tragic death of son Archie who died after being born 18 weeks early.
And in her column for new! magazine this week, the cautious actress revealed that she hadn't bought anything for her newborn.
She said: 'Lots of people tweeted to say they didn't know what I was going through and I've had women get in touch who are also on bed rest. I'm so glad it's all out in the open.'
And she added: 'My friend Hannah kindly brought me lots of baby bits. She said she couldn't sleep properly knowing I had nothing for the baby.'
The actress, who already two children, David, 15, and 13-year-old Emily from a previous relationship, has said this will be her last pregnancy.
She has said: 'This pregnancy has been really difficult, a nightmare in fact. We’ve been on eggshells.
'But it’s lovely when we see her on the scan and when I feel her wriggling.
